Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, and Hair. Her role on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across theatre and on television. she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that created Hamilton directed the production. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over an Century. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Some other Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been born in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
